
The objective of CroyDerm is to provide patients with better, faster care nearer to their homes; right care, right place and in good time as well as upskill GPs in the community to be able to deal with Dermatological conditions. This enables the dermatology department at Croydon University Hospital to focus on more complex patient cases.
By multidisciplinary working and sound clinical knowledge will underpinning the triaging of patient referrals from GP Practices this will ensure the patient pathway and enable completion of all diagnostics and treatments in as few face-to-face appointments as needed. In addition, the increased use of virtual clinics to review diagnostic test results will enable those patients who have no abnormal results to be contacted and booked for a follow up appointment quickly
The CroyDerm referral process also encourages referring clinicians to provide pertinent information about patients e.g. language requirements or transport. This information will be used to ensure our services are accessible and individual bookings meet the diverse needs of the Croydon population.
This will also include the use of transport services; language line; BSL interpreters; liaison with the Croydon Learning Disability Team, etc as appropriate.
