Cervical Sample Taker Initial Training

This online course is open to:

  • Registered nurses & registered midwives
  • Registered nursing associates
  • Physician associates registered on the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)
  • Registered healthcare professionals working in integrated sexual health (ISH) clinics
  • General Medical Council (GMC) registered medical doctors

Who wish to train to take cervical samples as part of their work.

The theoretical training comprises of on-line modules, Teams meetings, & practical teaching delivered over a one-week period.

Classroom teaching will take one half day and will be held at The Chaucer Centre, Canterbury Road, Morden SM4 6PX (Free parking)

Following on from this clinical practice & portfolio work, under the supervision of a mentor, will need to be completed with a final external assessment.

The whole training registration pathway can take up to six months to complete and all components are compulsory for staff wishing to take cervical samples
