FREE Cervical Cancer Training available with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust

Training commences from 19th January 2023 and each interactive session will last approximately 1.5 hours.

RM Partners have teamed up with other London Cancer Alliances to bring to your staff FREE online training sessions on cervical health with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. 

Taught by Jo’s Trust knowledgeable trainer, Lisa Gates, the training will:

  • enable non-clinical administrators, receptionists, and other patient-facing primary care staff to have conversations with people in your community confidently
  • increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of the importance of cervical screening, HPV and the vaccine
  • cover cervical cancer, signs and symptoms, prevention and barriers to screening
  • support practices in meeting the Early Diagnosis components within the PCN DES Specification
  • provide attendance certificates which can be used for continued professional development.

The interactive sessions are 1.5 hours in duration and will run from 19th January 2023.

Practices are encouraged set aside protected learning time for non-clinical practice staff. 

Each person who takes the course will be encouraged to commit to speaking to 15 people about cervical screening following the training.

This training is suitable for all non clinical staff (non-clinical administrators, receptionists and other primary care staff (e.g., social prescribers and care navigators) who are often patient facing or tasked with speaking to patients.)

Please note, we have experienced a high rate of missed sessions (Did Not Attend) in West London. Individuals are encouraged to cancel their place and rebook at a more convenient time as the cost per person trained is £39. Funding for this training is available for a limited time only.

Did you know just 1 in 3 women and people with a cervix take up their screening invite?

Funded by the four London Cancer Alliances, Jo’s Cervical Trust is delivering FREE virtual training sessions so non-clinical GP practice staff across London can improve their knowledge of Cervical Cancer and the importance of cervical screening.

Who is this training for?

  • non-clinical administrators, receptionists and other primary care staff (e.g., social prescribers and care navigators) who are often patient facing or tasked with speaking to patients.

What will the sessions cover?

  • Cervical cancer prevention
  • How to speak with patients about screening,
  • HPV and the vaccine

What will attendees get from the sessions?

  • Education and skills to improve their confidence when engaging with patients about screening, particularly in low participating groups.
  • Ability to support requirements for the Primary Care PCN DES and quality improvement for screening.

Training Details:

Training commences from 19th January 2023 and each interactive session will last approximately 1.5 hours.

Practices are encouraged to set aside protected learning time for non-clinical practice staff. Participants who attend will need to have access to a private room with audio and video functionality in order to participate and receive their certificate of attendance.
