Study Day on Bowel Dysfunction at PGMC Multiple Dates

This course is suitable for all Qualified Nursing Staff & Allied Healthcare Professionals Course includes:

• Anatomy and Physiology of the lower bowel
• Legal and Professional Aspects of Bowel Care
• What do you know about Laxatives?
• Neurogenic Bowel Relating to Spinal Cord Injury
• Practical session on bowel emptying techniques including Digital rectal examination, DRF, rectal medication, rectal irrigation, and pelvic floor rehabilitation
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome
• Constipation and bowel emptying techniques
• Anal Conditions

The study day is focused on developing competencies for use within clinical practice. Can be part of NMC revalidation.

Maximum places 16, course will be cancelled if less than 5.
