A Proven Delivery Partner
Across every service we have delivered - from long-term borough-wide programmes to rapidly mobilised COVID-19 initiatives - Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd has demonstrated its ability to design, implement and manage complex healthcare services that deliver real value for patients, practices and commissioners.
Our success has been built on strong clinical leadership, effective partnership working and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. Whether providing services at scale across multiple Primary Care Networks or responding rapidly to emerging healthcare challenges, we have consistently delivered flexible, innovative solutions that support both local communities and the wider NHS.
Our portfolio reflects an organisation with extensive experience in service mobilisation, operational delivery, workforce management and collaborative working. We are proud of the contribution we have made to improving access to primary care and supporting the health and wellbeing of the people of Croydon.
Community Dermatology Service
Working in partnership with Croydon University Hospital, we delivered a community-based dermatology service that enabled patients to access specialist assessment and treatment in primary care settings. The service improved access to expert dermatological care, reduced unnecessary hospital referrals where appropriate and provided timely diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin conditions.
COVID-19 Response
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd played a pivotal role in supporting the local NHS response by rapidly designing, mobilising and delivering a range of new services to meet emerging needs.
Working in close partnership with commissioners, GP practices, Croydon Health Services and wider system partners, we established multiple services - often within a matter of days - to respond to changing national guidance and local demand.
These initiatives included creating additional clinical capacity, supporting vulnerable patient groups, maintaining access to essential primary care services and delivering innovative models of care to relieve pressure across the wider health and care system. Our ability to respond quickly, adapt services and mobilise multidisciplinary teams under exceptionally challenging circumstances demonstrated the Collaborative's operational agility, resilience and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care when it was needed most.
The flexibility, innovation and collaborative approach shown throughout the pandemic remain a defining example of our ability to mobilise effective healthcare services rapidly in response to system priorities.
Croydon Community Anticoagulation Service (CICAS)
Our Community Anticoagulation Service brings specialist anticoagulation monitoring and management into local GP practices, making care more accessible for patients across the borough. By delivering appointments closer to home, the service improved patient convenience, supported effective long-term condition management and maintained consistently high standards of clinical governance.
Croydon Out of Hours Service
For five years, Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd delivered the Croydon Out of Hours Service, providing safe, responsive urgent primary care outside of normal GP opening hours. Based at Croydon University Hospital, the service ensured patients could access experienced clinicians during evenings, overnight, weekends and bank holidays, helping to reduce pressure on emergency departments while delivering timely, high-quality care.
Croydon Practice Manager Away Days
Croydon GP Collaborative (CGPC) is proud to organise and host dedicated Practice Manager Away Days, bringing Practice Managers from across Croydon together for learning, collaboration, networking and professional development.
Enhanced Access Service
As a trusted Primary Care at Scale provider, Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd delivered Enhanced Access services across seven of Croydon's nine Primary Care Networks. Working collaboratively with member practices, we provided evening and weekend appointments through a multidisciplinary workforce, improving access for thousands of patients while supporting practices in meeting national service requirements.
Extended Access Service (EAS)
Commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB), our Extended Access Service expanded the availability of primary care appointments across Croydon beyond traditional practice opening hours. The service increased patient choice and accessibility while supporting practices to meet growing demand and improve overall access to healthcare.
Protected Learning Time (PLT)
Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd has long been committed to supporting the development of the local primary care workforce. We coordinated and delivered biannual Protected Learning Time (PLT) events, bringing together GPs, nurses, pharmacists, practice managers and other healthcare professionals from across the borough to share best practice, strengthen collaborative working and support continuous professional development.
Covering a broad range of clinical and operational topics, our events consistently attracted strong attendance. Our most recent PLT event focused on sleep medicine and welcomed more than 150 primary care professionals from across Croydon.
Severe Mental Illness (SMI) Health Check Service
Our SMI Health Check Service proactively engaged with patients living with severe mental illness, particularly those who found it difficult to access routine healthcare. Through flexible, patient-centred delivery - including home visits where appropriate - we provided comprehensive physical health checks, promoted preventative care and helped address health inequalities within this vulnerable population.
Special Allocation Service (SAS)
We delivered the Special Allocation Service on behalf of Croydon, providing primary care for patients requiring enhanced security, safeguarding or behavioural risk management. The service balanced compassionate, patient-centred care with robust clinical governance, ensuring patients with complex needs were able to access appropriate healthcare in a safe and well-managed environment.
Winter Pressures Support
For a number of years, Croydon GP Collaborative Ltd successfully delivered Winter Pressures programmes to support primary care during periods of increased seasonal demand. Working alongside commissioners and local practices, we provided additional GP appointment capacity through flexible service models that improved patient access, reduced waiting times and helped relieve pressure across primary, urgent and emergency care during the busiest months of the year.
